Dorothy L. (Winans) McCord

Dorothy L. McCord, 92, of Hopewell, died August 16, 2022, at UPMC Passavant.

Born on October 10, 1929, in Volga, WV, daughter of the late Jason and Litha Shanabarger Winans. Dorothy worked at Stanley Flower Shop and enjoyed being a professional cake baker and caterer. Her favorite cakes to bake were wedding cakes. She was also an active member of the Valley Christian Fellowship.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmer W. McCord; a son, Christopher McCord; and nine siblings.

Surviving are her three children, Larry (Elaine) McCord, Debbie Welling, and Jill McCord; one brother; seven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends; as well as her church family.

Friends will be received Saturday, August 20th from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM in the CORLESS-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, LLC, 1133 Church Street Ambridge, PA 15003. Rev.
