Warren Norris Mawhinney, 87, of Zelienople, formerly of Economy Borough, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 24, 2021, at Passavant Senior Living.
Born on December 11, 1933, in Pittsburgh, the son of the late Ralph and Alma Mawhinney. Warren was an avid hunter and wild turkey drinker. He loved his family and enjoyed helping his friends. Warren was a Korean War Army Veteran and a Masonic Mason member of Lodge 653.
Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Arlene Puhlman Mawhinney; three children, Susan Hovanec and her husband, William, Mark Mawhinney and his wife, Sarah, Scott Mawhinney and his wife, Valerie; brother, Allen Mawhinney and his wife, Joan; sister-in-law, Margaret Mawhinney; six grandchildren, Sean (Amber), Randi, Kayla (Greg), Luke (Fiancé, Mauriana), Zeb, and Kenzie; four great-grandchildren, Sean, Ava, Levi, Sadie; dear friends, Norman and Roberta Amsler and family; many great friends at Passavant Senior Living; and all his buddies he loved to hunt with.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Mawhinney.
Friends will be received Monday from 4-8PM at the Corless-Matter Funeral Home & Cremation Services, 1133 Church Street Ambridge, PA 15003, www.corlessmatterfuneralhome.com, where a service will be held Tuesday at 9 AM.
Burial will follow at Allegheny County Memorial Park in Allison Park, PA, where full military honors will be held.
