Lester J. Blaho, 97, of Harmony Township, passed away peacefully on Friday, September 22, 2023, at Allegheny General Hospital.
He was born on March 18, 1926, in Beaver Falls, the son of the late John and Helen Fedak Blaho.
Lester's thirst for knowledge was evident throughout his life. He was a graduate of Ambridge High School and furthered his education at Carnegie Institute of Technology, where he earned two degrees, one in Mechanical Engineering and the other in Industrial Administration.
Lester had an illustrious career that spanned several decades. He worked for the National Electric Company and Pittsburgh Tube Company, where he made significant contributions to the industry. His extraordinary work at Pittsburgh Tube Company led to the granting of two patents.
In addition to his professional accomplishments, Lester also served his country with honor during World War II as a member of the US Army. His selfless service to the nation is deeply appreciated and will never be forgotten.
Lester is survived by his son Mark (Katherine) Blaho, two daughters, Gretchen (Warren) Kati and Amy (Charles) Kneifel, as well as his beloved grandchildren Rebekah Kati, Jessica Blaho, Christopher Blaho, Nicholas Kati, Scott Blaho, and Margaret Kneifel.
In addition to his parents, Lester was preceded in death by his loving wife, Elizabeth Frosch Blaho, and his brother, Eugene R. Blaho.
Friends will be received Monday from 6 PM to 8 PM in the CORLESS-MATTER FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION SERVICES, LLC, 1133 Church Street, Ambridge.
